Dear friends of the IYDU,

it was a great pleasure for us and for all of Junge Union to host the IYDU Council Meeting from 25 to 29 November 2009. Together we could celebrate the victory of freedom 20 years ago and get an impression of the historic events of 1989.

We want to thank the participants and guests of the IYDU Council Meeting for having come to Berlin in such great numbers and from very far away sometimes. The Berlin council with its broad range of organisations and countries represented showed the importance of the IYDU network. We clearly see the need to strengthen and intensify the cooperation within this network to face the global challenges for the young generation together and keep up the values of our centre-right and conservative organisations.
